Maruti will reveal the updated Ertiga MPV at the Indonesian International Motor Show on August 20, 2015. New spy pictures confirm that the higher-spec Ertiga will come with Maruti’s new SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system. We had reported earlier that this system would be incorporated in more Maruti models.

Here’s what the Maruti SmartPlay system offers:

    ·     A 7-inch TFT touchscreen display

    ·     Satellite navigation with voice commands

    ·     Voice recognition

    ·     USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity

    ·     Pairing up to 10 smartphones

    ·     Display for a dial pad, phonebook and call logs for the paired smartphone

    ·     Smartphone app to control the system remotely

    ·     Display for the car’s rear-view camera (if equipped)

On the exterior, the new grille with chrome slats takes centre stage, along with an updated front bumper with chrome inserts. The alloy wheel design for top-spec trims and the wheel cap design for the mid- and lower-level trims are all new. The updated Ertiga will also include automatic climate control for the Z-trims and a push-button start system. There will be power folding mirrors on offer as well.

The updated Maruti Ertiga is expected to continue with the choice of powerplants available in the current version. However, updates for better fuel economy will be introduced. With this mid-cycle facelift, the Ertiga will be able to compete better with the likes of the Honda Mobilio, and the recently launched Renault Lodgy MPV.

The refreshed Maruti Ertiga is expected to come to Indian shores shortly after the international launch.
