Maruti will officially launch the new Celerio hatchback in India at the Auto Expo 2014

The new Celerio was previewed in concept-form by the Suzuki A: Wind concept at the Thailand motor show 2013 and will replace both the A-Star and the now-discontinued Zen Estilo in Maruti’s India line-up. The production version of the Maruti Celerio is designed for a global audience and is expected to be the size of the new Hyundai Grand i10 hatchback.

The Maruti Celerio will be powered by an updated version of the 1.0-litre K10 petrol engine and will be available with Maruti’s new automated-manual gearbox. A five-speed manual transmission will also be on offer.

Maruti will also showcase a new SUV concept at the Auto Expo 2014 called the Suzuki iV-4 concept. This SUV concept was earlier seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013. It shares many styling details with the Maruti XA-Alpha concept which was shown at the Auto Expo 2012. The new Suzuki iV-4 concept’s styling should give us concrete clues on the upcoming Maruti SUV, due in 2016.
Maruti’s Auto Expo 2014 showcase will also include another concept car along with the rest of its current offerings.
