Mahindra TUV300 bookings open; launch on Sept 10, 2015

Mahindra dealers have started accepting bookings for the new TUV300 that is to be launched on September 10, 2015. The booking amount for the new compact SUV is set at Rs 20,000.

The compact SUV sports an angular and upright design. At the front, it gets Mahindra’s signature grille flanked by wrap-around angular headlamps, and the bumper gets a large rectangular air inlet and squared-off fog-lamps. The squared-off styling extends to the wheel arches to the large glasshouse.
The rear gets a set of simple tail-lamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

On the inside, the TUV300 gets a 5+2 layout with two jump seats behind the second row. The interior will get dual-tone upholstery and there are many common parts borrowed from larger Scorpio and XUV500. The Mahindra TUV300 will be powered by the new mHawk80 1.5-litre diesel engine, expected to be a revised version of the 1.5-litre three-cylinder unit seen on the Quanto.

The TUV300 will likely come in three variants – T4, T6 and T8. Offered as standard across the trims are AC, power-steering and power windows. Here are the other features the trims are likely to come with:

    Mahindra TUV300 T4:

    • Three paint shade options (silver, black and red)
    • ABS and front airbags (optional)

    Mahindra TUV300 T6:

    • Three paint shade options (white, silver and black)
    • To come with body coloured bumpers, door handles and wing mirrors
    • AMT gearbox (optional)

    Mahindra TUV300 T8:

    • Six paint shade options (red, white, silver, black, blue and orange)
    • Alloy wheels, ABS and airbags
    • AMT gearbox (optional)

When it goes on sale, Mahindra's TUV300 will be positioned above the Quanto and is expected to be priced around Rs 7.3 lakh (ex-showroom). Dealers are promising deliveries around September 17, 2015, depending on availability of the compact SUV, to coincide with the Ganesh festival.
