Mahindra Nuvosport to come in six variants

Rebadged Nuvosport, Mahindra's facelifted Quanto is set to launch on April 4, 2016. As part of the facelift, Mahindra has heavily restyled the compact SUV’s front fascia and revised the interiors. When launched the Nuvosport will be offered in six variants – N4, N4+, N6, N6 AMT, N8 and N8 AMT.

Powering the compact SUV will be a 1.5-litre three-cylinder mHawk diesel engine offering two drive modes – Power and Economy – with varying outputs. When set to Power mode, the engine will develop 100bhp and 24.47kgm of torque while in Economy mode, the engine will pump out 72bhp and 18.35kgm of pulling power. The engine will be paired with a five-speed manual gearbox with the option of an AMT gearbox.

Earlier in the month, the SUV maker released official images of the Nuvosport detailing a completely revised front fascia with a new bonnet, grille, headlamps and front bumper. Styling at the rear remains identical to the outgoing Quanto while the top-spec model sits on new design 16-inch alloy wheels. Mahindra has also announced that the Nuvosport is based on an all-new platform.

Inside, the Nuvosport will retain its seven-seat layout with two jump seats in the boot. Interior images of test mules have revealed a revised dashboard, steering and leather upholstery on the top-spec variant. The top-spec model is also expected to get features like a touchscreen infotainment system, eight-way adjustable front seat and cruise control.

The Nuvosport is set to rival the likes of the Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport.
