    Indian Roadmaster Classic revealed

Indian Motorcycles has revealed yet another model for its 2017 line-up on its website – the Roadmaster Classic. Featuring different kit and slightly different bodywork as compared to the Roadmaster, the Classic has not yet been officially launched by the American motorcycle maker, though the website listing indicates a launch is imminent.

The Roadmaster Classic differs only in kit and body panels. The Roadmaster Classic measures 2,630mm in length, 1,491mm in height and 1,001mm in width, different from the Roadmaster only on account of saddlebags.

The Roadmaster Classic will slot below the Roadmaster, considering it loses out on some of the features of the latter. Unlike the Roadmaster’s remote-locking hard saddlebags and remote-locking trunk, the Classic gets leather bags and a leather trunk without remote locking. It also gets a 100W stereo system as opposed to the Roadmaster’s 200W unit and loses out on the front engine-guard covers.

That said, it still gets a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation and smartphone connectivity, keyless start, an electrically-adjustable windshield, cruise control, heated rider and passenger seats, heated grips, adjustable passenger floorboards and a tire-pressure-monitoring system.

The Roadmaster Classic will be powered by 1,811cc ‘Thunder Stroke 111’ V-twin engine as the Roadmaster, with 135Nm of peak torque developed at 2,100rpm. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and a single shock around the back, while braking duties are taken care of by dual 300mm discs up front and a single 300mm disc at the rear. The bike weighs approximately 400kg.

When contacted, Indian Motorcycles refused to confirm whether the Roadmaster Classic will be launched in India; however, the bike’s listing on the website is a sure indication of the same. The Roadmaster is currently priced at Rs 39.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), so we can expect the Roadmaster Classic to be priced slightly below that, somewhere between Rs 37 lakh and Rs 38 lakh.
