    Hyundai is expected to launch the new Verna facelift on February 18, 2015. Ahead of its launch, we have managed to get access to the official brochure from our sources. Here are the details of the features that will be available in each of the different trims.

    On the Verna facelift, Hyundai has retained the engine and gearbox options. Among the petrol variants, there’s a 105bhp, 1.4-litre engine (with a five-speed manual gearbox) and a 121bhp, 1.6-litre engine (with a five-speed manual or four-speed auto gearbox). The diesel variants offer the option of a 89bhp, 1.4-litre engine (with a six-speed manual gearbox) and a 126bhp, 1.6-litre engine (with a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox). The diesel engines get a mild update of their own with a new, low friction coating on the pistons to improve refinement, emissions and efficiency. As per ARAI-tested figures, the 1.4-litre diesel’s fuel economy is up 1.3kpl (to 24.8kpl) and the 1.6-litre’s has improved to 23.9kpl.

    The 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines will be offered only in the Base trim. In comparison, the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines will be offered in S, S (O) and SX trims. However, the 1.6-litre petrol automatic will be available only in S (O) trim while the 1.6-litre diesel automatic will be offered in the SX trim. Continued..

    Hyundai cars are known to come equipped with a good amount of standard kit and the Verna facelift doesn’t disappoint. The Base trim comes equipped with ABS with EBD, a day and night rear view mirror, central locking and electrically adjustable wing mirrors with turn indicators. It even gets manual air-conditioning, front and rear power windows, tilt adjustable steering and a 2-DIN four speaker audio system with 1 GB memory. The instrumentation console gets a tachometer and digital clock. 

    In addition to the standard kit, the S trim gets a driver airbag, rear camera with display on ECM, rear parking sensors, height adjustable front seatbelts, projector headlamps with follow-me-home function and even automatic headlight control. That’s not all - it also gets climate control, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, rear defogger, front fog lamps, gear shift indicator, 15-inch alloys and the wing mirrors are electrically foldable.

    Positioned above it, is the S (O) trim which additionally gets airbags for the driver and front passenger, 16-inch alloys with two-tone finish, smart key with push button start and a cooled glovebox.  Only the top SX trim comes equipped with side and curtain airbags, speed sensing auto door lock, leather upholstery, rain sensing wipers and tilt and telescopic adjustable steering.

    The Verna 4S will be launched is expected to cost in the range of Rs 7.5-12 lakh (estimated ex-showroom, Delhi).
