    Hyundai i20 Cross sketch.

Hyundai is currently in the process of finalising the all-new and yet-to-be-revealed i20 Cross. We can tell you that the company is quite gung-ho about the car’s prospects. It all starts with the altered look, which Hyundai claims, has turned out surprisingly well. So what can you expect? Well, apart from the de-rigueur extra cladding, the Cross also gets attractive roof rails, bigger wheels, and a new nose. The headlights, grille and chin have apparently been altered, and the ground clearance, of course, is higher. Hyundai is likely to use LEDs on this version of the i20 too.

The engines will remain the same as the i20, but there will be a slight bump up in power for both, diesel and petrol models. An automatic is on the cards as well, but that will come later in the life of the car. The i20 Cross will also be significant for Hyundai India because the Chennai factory will be the global mother plant for the model. Expect it to cost Rs 50,000-75,000 more, in comparison to the regular i20.
