Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has just inaugurated the Children Traffic Park at Sector-23 in Chandigarh. At the training park, Honda aims to spread awareness about road safety issues, by replicating real-life riding conditions in a safe and secure environment. The institution will impart knowledge through theoretical lessons and will teach correct riding positions and rules.
Honda has also installed a virtual riding simulator at the park, to help people above the age of 13 experience over 100 possible on road dangers. This will help riders anticipate mishaps before they actually happen.
Honda has a CRF50, a smaller training motorcycle, at the park that will help children aged 9-12 years, understand the dynamics of riding a motorcycle. It will also help the young minds grasp the safe riding concept through exciting and practical riding circumstances. Apart from training youngsters, Honda also has a team of dedicated female safety instructors to help the women in Chandigarh learn how to ride, and in the process, be independent.
Yadvinder S Guleria, vice president, sale and marketing, Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India says that this step was necessary because a large number of women wanted to be independent and learn how to ride a two-wheeler in the hustle of Delhi roads. To fulfill this, Honda has already trained 2,000 women in Delhi within a short time span of 22 days.
This is Honda's seventh such park in India. The other parks are present in Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Yeola, and there are two parks in Delhi.
