Hero MotoCorp showcases 2014 line-up

Indian two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp has launched 15 new models and variants based upon its existing line-up with aesthetic and technological upgrades. 

 

Hero’s Pleasure automatic scooter will now come with linked brakes, what Hero calls the Integrated Braking System (IBS). As seen on rival Honda’s Activa automatic scooter, this system applies brakes to the front and rear wheels simultaneously. Hero plans to introduce this braking system on all its automatic scooters in the future. The new Pleasure also comes with a mobile charging point, lockable glove box, a light for the underseat storage compartment, combination ignition lock and an indicator for an open seat and side stand.

 

Moving onto Hero’s commuter motorcycles, this two-wheeler specialist launches the Splendor iSmart. This new Splendor comes with a first-in-class fuel saving start-stop system which shuts the engine down while the bike is at standstill. Apart from this novel tech, the new Splendor gets refreshed styling which includes new body panels, graphic, paint schemes and restyled instruments. Hero’s new Splendor Pro, Super Splendor, HF Dawn and HF Deluxe will get new graphics, instruments and side stand indicator warning lights as well.  Continued..

 

 

 

Hero has also added a new variant of the Passion Pro which comes with new graphics, instruments, a side-stand indicator and paint schemes. Another addition to Hero’s commuter line-up is the new HF Deluxe Eco which sports air foils on the crash guards, new aerodynamic rear-view mirrors and low rolling friction tyres. Hero’s Glamour and Glamour FI bikes too get new racy graphics.

 

Hero’s 150cc premium commuter segment Xtreme motorcycle now gets an electronic immobiliser which prevents the engine from starting in the event an incorrect key is inserted in the ignition. Along with new instruments, a restyled headlight, fuel tank, LED taillight and mobile charger point, this 150cc bike comes with a side-stand switch which cuts-off ignition in case the side stand is open while riding or starting the engine.

 

 

Coming to Hero’s larger bikes, the Karizma R and ZMR receive upgrades as well. These bikes now get twin headlights, a bulb winker, reworked body panels, a belly pan, a sportier handlebar, a redesigned seat, new exhaust end-canister and wider tyres.

 

Hero’s refreshed line-up will use the same engines currently on its motorcycles and scooters. 

 

Hero further announced that it'll showcase a newer range of bikes at the Indian Auto Expo in February 2014.
