Ford has just revealed the first member of its Vignale upscale lineup -- the Mondeo Vignale.

The 2015 Mondeo Vignale will be available in the form of a saloon and an estate, and will offer features such as unique design and specification with quilted and tuxedo-stitched leather interior, exclusive Vignale Nocciola metallic paint color and special alloy wheel designs, amongst many other things.

The Mondeo Vignale is based on the Titanium X trim and is loaded with premium features like Active Noise Cancellation system on the diesel models, new technologies like Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Active Park Assist featuring Perpendicular Parking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Active City Stop and the SYNC2 infotainment system. The special smartphone app grants customers access to GPS-enabled services like Vignale Park Me and Vignale Onecall.

To make the Vignale stand-out from the regular Mondeo range, Ford has installed a unique upper grille with a hexagonal design in a dark matte metallic finish, combined with an aluminum surround. In addition, the Vignale gets chrome door details, a high-gloss lower grille and chrome bars, a high-gloss finish for the pillars and door mirrors sail and Vignale 18-inch wheels.

The equipment on this car includes full LED adaptive headlights, power tailgate, heated steering wheel and 12-speaker sound system and rear parking sensors cameras.

Under the hood, the Mondeo Vignale is powered by the most powerful engines in the Mondeo range, in petrol, diesel or hybrid forms. There are two 2.0-litre diesel engines making 178bhp and 207bhp. The petrol variant is a 2.0-litre Ecoboost making 237bhp. The 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid is available only on the saloon.

Despite the high level of specification, Ford's European marketing, sales and service chief, Roelant de Waard, has confirmed that there will be more opportunities for customers wanting to further customise their Vignale. "We will be showing more personalisation options in May", he said, "they will be mainly cosmetic, both interior and exterior."
