Ford has showcased the iconic Mustang GT at the upcoming eleventh iteration of the Autocar Performance Show set to be held from January 19-22.

The Mustang, currently in its first generation as a right-hand drive, is available in the fastback body style and in GT spec. The Mustang gets plenty of retro touches to the styling of the nose and rear, in addition to a bulging bonnet and brawny wheel arches. Design features such as the wide shoulders, raked roofline and lengthy bonnet lend the Mustang a commanding muscular look. The LED tri-bar tail-lamps hark back to the days of the original first-gen model. The cabin too gets retro touches but with an overall theme that also seems to be based on aviation, with airplane-like switch gear laid out on the centre console.

Under the long hood rests a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8, rated to develop 401hp and 515Nm of torque. All the power is channelled to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox. Ford has also given the car some nifty touches such as an Electronic Line Lock feature that locks the front wheels while letting the car put the power down on the rear axle to spin the wheels and burn rubber.

The Mustang is available at Ford dealerships across the country with an ex-showroom, Delhi, price of Rs 66.30 lakh.
