Fiat Linea 125 S launched at Rs 10.46 lakh

    The most powerful version of the Linea sedan uses a T-Jet turbo-petrol engine in 125hp form.

    Fiat has launched the Linea 125 S at a price of Rs 10.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). First showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 earlier this year, the Linea 125 S is the most powerful version of the Linea sedan.

    The Linea 125 S is powered by the same 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine found on the Linea T-Jet, but power has been upped 11hp, to 125hp. In addition to this increase in power, the car also gets a 5-inch touch-screen infotainment system with navigation and a rear-view camera. The Linea 125 S replaces the 114hp T-Jet and will only be available in the top Emotion trim.

    Also part of the package are features like ambient lighting and cruise control. 16-inch alloy wheels, dual stage airbags and rear disc brakes are also standard fit on the Linea 125 S.

    Meanwhile, the carmaker has also equipped the Linea Fire petrol, available only in the Active trim, with the 5-inch touch-screen infotainment system, navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. The sedan is priced at Rs 7.82 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi).

    Along with the launch of the Linea 125 S, Fiat also updated the Punto Evo and the Avventura line-up. Badged PowerTech, the Punto Evo sees the introduction of a 93hp diesel engine across its existing variant range – Active, Dynamic and Emotion. Both the Avventura PowerTech and the Punto Evo PowerTech now come with the 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the Linea 125 S as standard.

    Prices for the PowerTech series starts at Rs 6.81 lakh for the Fiat Punto Evo and Rs 7.87 lakh for the Fiat Avventura. (All prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

    Moreover, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is all set to launch the Jeep brand in India later this year with the Wrangler, Cherokee and Cherokee SRT SUVs, to be brought in via the CBU route. The introduction of the Jeep brand is also likely to enhance the company’s presence in the Indian market in the near term.
