In 2014, Fiat had launched its 500 “1957 Edition” that got old school looks, in the United States, but it was only available as a coupe. The Italian carmakers are now expanding the range with a cabriolet version of the 500 “1957 Edition”.

While it’s a cabriolet, it isn’t a traditional convertible because it retains the door frames of the hardtop model and the C-pillars - you could say it’s a large fabric sunroof that folds up to a few inches of the tailgate, at the touch of a button.

The cabriolet gets the same vintage treatment as the coupe, and it also has a choice of special classic colors like the Verde Chiaro (light green) or Celeste (celestial blue), with a two-tone Marrone (brown) and Avorio (ivory) leather interior. It also gets 16-inch forged aluminum wheels with a retro design, period “FIAT” badges and chrome exterior trims.

Fiat’s 1.4-litre inline-four engine is the only engine available, and it can be mated to a standard 5-speed stick shift or an optional six-speed automatic gearbox.
