Daruvala to graduate to senior karting in 2014

The step up to senior karting is likely to be a two-year programme with Jehan focussed on gaining experience this year as he competes against the best European upcoming racers.

Indian prodigy JehanDaruvala is set to compete in various Senior European Karting Championships as he continues to climb the motorsport ladder with the Sahara Force India F1 academy.

The Mumbai lad enjoyed great success in 2013, winning the MSA British KFJ championship, and the 15-year-old is now set to compete against older and more experienced drivers from across Europe.  He will be participating in the German National Championship beside the WSK and CIK races in Europe.

The step up to senior karting is likely to be a two-year programme with Jehan focussed on gaining experience this year as he competes against the best European upcoming racers. A year of learning in 2014 will prepare Jehan for full assault on the title in 2015.

Jehan has already shown well in the Winter Cup held at Lonato where he qualified P18 of 49 drivers. Strong showings in the heats paved the way for a ninth place finish in the final, with Jehan setting the fastest lap along the way.

Unfortunately, Jehan’s racing plans were temporarily put on hold following a cycling accident while training. He is expected to be out of action for a month as a result of breaking his right thumb.
Jehan is planning his return to competitive action at the WSK race at Sarno on 22nd and 23rd of March.
