Castrol launches new engine oil for engines with stop-start system

Castrol, engine oil manufacturer, has launched a new product – the Magnatec Stop-Start. It is a new oil that protects cars enginesfrom wear-and-tear due to stop-start city driving.

City driving, especially during peak traffic hours, requires a lot of idling and stop-start driving. Accelerating causes an increase in energy and braking causes loss of energy, both of which cause heat to be dissipated. Couple the heat with the friction caused during the running and it amounts to a lot of wear-and-tear.

The company claims that the oil has been developed specifically to protect against this damage. Soma Ghosh, VP-marketing, Castrol India said, “Not many people know that stop-start driving can result in additional engine wear. At Castrol, we have spent thousands of hours in the laboratory and in partnership with one of the world’s greatest universities, developing an engine oil that specifically protects engine parts against the wear of stop-start driving.”
