BMW India will launch the 7-series ActiveHybrid on July 23. This will be the brand's first hybrid model in India. The car made its global debut at the 2009 Frankfurt auto show.
The 7 Series ActiveHybrid will come with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, which makes 320bhp and 45.8kgm of torque. This twin-turbocharged unit is mated to an electric motor which is good for 55bhp and 21.4kgm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through the ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. BMW claims a 0-100 timing of 5.7 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250kph.
The 7-series ActiveHybrid will come into the Indian markets via CBU. It will join the current 7-series lineup that includes the 730 Ld, 740 Li, 750 Li and the top-of-the-line 760 Li.
