    Autocar Performance Show 2017 begins

Ladies and gents, block your calendar till January 22 because life in Mumbai, especially for you automotive and technology buffs, gets elevated by the annual Autocar Performance Show 2017 which began today.

Back in the expanse of the MMRDA grounds at Bandra-Kurla Complex, APS, as we call it, once again presents to you a veritable mixture of the hottest cars, bikes and gadgets. For those who worship four-wheeled machines of speed, there are a host of supercars to drool at, ranging from the brand new Lamborghini Huracan, Ford Mustang, Nissan GT-R, Porsche Macan, Mercedes Cabriolet and Jeep Wrangler to the usual exotics from Bentley, Audi and Jaguar Land Rover. Motorcycle buffs can feast their eyes on bikes from Triumph and Benelli, among others.

The Maruti Ignis and the 2017 Ford EcoSport Titanium edition have been showcased as well.

If you prefer doing over seeing, the Tata Hexa 4x4 Experience Zone allows you to experience the Hexa in proper off-road conditions for yourself. If you are more of a tarmac guy, consider registering for the Maruti Suzuki Autocross, one of the hottest amateur racing series out there.

Other new features include the car buyer's zone, powered by What Car? India magazine and the Stuff Gadget Show. The car buyer’s zone is a dedicated area staffed with experts from What Car? India magazine Anchorwho are ready to answer all your queries and provide advice related to actual car purchasing. The Stuff Gadget Show has put on display the hottest tech and gadgets around.
APS has also resolved to support entrepreneurial ventures in the auto space this year. Also on display are two projects from the Auto Institute – a single-seat, zero-emission e-vehicle and an ATV based on the Bajaj Pulsar that can be used for farm chores.

APS is also running special offers for students. On showing their student IDs, they can avail a 10 percent discount on entry pass for the 19th (Thursday) and the 20th (Friday). Students are also eligible for the ‘Intern with Autocar Contest’. Two winners, one for the editorial team and one for the photography team, will get a chance to intern with the Autocar India magazine. To participate, one has to submit a write-up, or photographs, of the APS. Best entries will win.
