Audi has revealed a more powerful version of its performance-oriented SQ5, called the SQ5 Plus.

Unlike the S8 that got Audi’s ‘Plus’ treatment with a massive 85bhp increase in power, the 309bhp SQ5's 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, diesel V6 is stepped up by a modest 26bhp in power and a 5kgm
in torque, rating the SQ5 Plus at 335bhp and 71kgm.

This increased power translates to a 0-100kph dash in 5.1seconds, before going on to an electronically limited top speed of 250kph. The enormous amount of torque produced by the engine is transmitted on to the road via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system, as on all of its S models. To better handle the power, the SQ5 Plus features an additional sport differential at the rear axle – an Audi first.

Besides the Plus trim, the SQ5 gets a limited Audi Exclusive Macaw Blue edition. This model gets a macaw blue paint scheme, Nappa leather on the seats, special floor mats and aluminium inserts in the interior.

The Audi SQ5 Plus could be the last hurrah in the current Q5 range as the carmaker has already begun testing the next-gen Q5 which will be unveiled in 2016.
