All Tesla Model S cars recalled

Tesla has confirmed that it has issued a voluntary recall of every Model S worldwide in order to fix a potential issue with the seatbelts. The global recall, which is understood to involve 90,000 vehicles, is the result of one customer reporting a fault with the front seatbelt on a Model S.

In a statement released, the company revealed that it recently found a Model S in Europe with a front seat belt that was not properly connected to the outboard lap pretensioner. This vehicle was not involved in any crash and there were no injuries.

The California-based company also added, "This is the only customer vehicle we know of with this condition. We have since inspected the seat belts in over 3,000 vehicles spanning the entire range of Model S production and found no issues."

All versions of the Model S that have been produced since the model’s launch in 2012, including the latest P85D, are understood to be a part of the voluntary recall.

A Tesla spokesperson confirmed to our sister publication Autocar UK, that the short safety check would take around three to six minutes to complete.
