Lamborghini has launched the rear-wheel-drive iteration of the Huracàn Spyder in India at a price of Rs 3.45 crore (ex-showroom, India). Revealed to the public at the LA motor show late last year, the Italian supercar no longer follows the previous nomenclature system and is now known as the ‘rear-wheel-drive Spyder’ instead of ‘LP580-2.
Sitting under the hood of the mid-engined convertible Italian supercar is the same 580hp 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 that the LP580-2 already offered. In terms of performance, the car is 0.2sec slower than its RWD coupé sibling with a 0-100kph sprint time of 3.6sec, while the top speed is also marginally lower. The car is also 120kg heavier than the RWD coupé.
Cosmetic changes to the drop-top supercar include new bumpers to improve downforce at the front for better grip levels. As with its RWD coupé sibling, the Spyder sits on bespoke Pirelli P-Zero tyres and gets similar features and fittings as well.
The Huracàn rear-wheel-drive Spyder has been priced at a significant premium compared to its rear-wheel-drive coupé sibling which sits as the entry-level model in the line-up.
