2016 Hyundai Elantra India launch on August 23, 2016

Hyundai dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for the all-new Elantra to be launched on the 23rd of this month.

Our sources tell us that showrooms in Delhi have set a booking amount of Rs 25,000 and those in Mumbai are accepting Rs 50,000 for the same. However, the dealerships have not divulged any information regarding the trims or equipment for new Elantra.

The new car will replace the current selling Elantra and will take on the likes of the Skoda Octavia and the Toyota Corolla. It will be powered by a choice of two engines, a 2.0-litre petrol producing 149hp and a 1.6-litre diesel that will be good for 136hp.

The price of the new car has not yet been announced but the word is that it will cost a tad higher than the current Elantra. To clear stocks, dealerships are also offering discounts ranging from Rs 30,000 – Rs 50,000 on the current model.
