    Buying a second hand car

I’m looking at a 5-year-old Honda which was driven for only 8000km. Am I likely to face any problem due to the low mileage? How much should I pay for it?
    Rakesh Pradhan, via email

AAA Fundamentally, there should be no problem as long as the car was serviced as per the service schedule, whether it did any mileage or not. Even a parked car needs to be serviced. Take it to a good third-party garage to ensure that the engine is in good health, because with such  low mileage, suspension and other components are likely to be in good shape.

As for the valuation, you haven’t told us much — the price will depend on the city, car model/trim. Assuming it is a Honda City, you shouldn’t pay any more than Rs 4.5 lakh for the second or third trim
    (S or V).
