I want to buy an automatic SUV that costs under Rs 25 lakh (on-road). I want one that’s good to drive, handles well and is meant for long drives.

AAA There are not too many options in the Rs 25 lakh category and we would narrow your choice down to the Hyundai Tucson diesel-auto or the Jeep Compass petrol-auto. The Jeep has much better ride and handling than the Tucson, and feels very stable on long drives, even over bad roads. However, the petrol engine lacks a bit of low-end punch and isn’t as economical as the Tucson. Overall, the Tucson diesel-auto is more practical and though it feels a bit soft and rolls a little in corners, it’s got a strong engine and is a good cruiser. We feel the Tucson fits your requirements well.
