The Suzuki Access is old-school to look at with styling that will fail to thrill all but the most conservative. The scooter enjoys mid-size proportions that are comfortable enough for an adult male.

The Access portrays a rounded and simple silhouette, with flush fitting clear indicators set into its front apron. The scooter’s clear lens and halogen-equipped headlamp offers decent illumination at night. Analogue gauges are well laid out with an easily legible speedometer, odometer and offset fuel gauge set around other predictable icons. The Suzuki provides good control levers and Activa-inspired switches and mirrors. A rear brake locking clamp allows riders to activate the rear brake when parked to prevent the gearless scooter rolling backwards or forward. The Access restricts unlawful access by deterring thieves with a locking system that cuts off key entry via a shutter. The ignition key unit is a one-stop place from where even the scooter seat bay can be opened. This Suzuki scooter sadly lacks front fuel-filling. Also absent is basic front storage space, with even the solitary bag hook being located out-of-the-way, too low and close to the floorboard to carry any respectable bag. We were also surprised to find the Access wanting for an integrated floor-mat.

The rear of the scooter looks bulbous and is further spoilt by its unshapely silencer. The Access does offer mounts for a spare wheel to attach on its tubular grab bar. The well laid out integrated tail lights bring up the Suzuki’s tail.

Suzuki’s Access offers outstanding paint lustre while its non-metal panels fit together seamlessly, with flawless fit and finish throughout.
