Toyota launches new base trim for Altis

Toyota has launched a new base trim for the Corolla Altis saloon.

The new J (S) spec will be available in both petrol and diesel guise. Over and above the base J diesel variant, the new J (S) will get two airbags, a touchscreen music system, and USB compatibility.

The petrol J (S) trim will replace the current base J petrol and will come with the same kit as the diesel J (S) spec.

The Altis will continue to be powered with unaltered engine options, with a 1.4-litre D-4D diesel engine that puts out 87bhp and a 1.8-litre petrol engine that makes 138bhp doing duty. Both come equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Altis J (S) petrol comes with a price tag of Rs 11.74 lakh, while the J (S) diesel is available for Rs 13.16 lakh. All prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
