New BMW 3-series launched

Available with two engines, the new 3-series is for Rs 28.9 lakh for the base 320d, going up to Rs 37.9 lakh for the petrol 328i variant.

BMW has launched the new 3-series saloon at a starting price tag of Rs 28.9 lakh for the base 320d variant, going up to Rs 37.9 lakh for the petrol 328i Sportline variant. The company’s bread-and-butter model now features a stunning new exterior design, complemented by a pair of competent engines.

The car will be powered by two engines, a diesel 2.0-litre four-pot producing 181bhp and 38.74kgm of torque, along with a petrol 2.0-litre four-cylinder pumping out 241bhp and 35.69kgm of torque.

Visually, the new 3-series takes design cues from the latest 5-series in a bid to provide BMW’s two best-selling models with a more unified appearance. From the front, the two share a similar look that is continued along heavily structured sides to a high-set rear, which gives the new car a more wedge-shaped profile.

Known internally as the F30, the 3-series is new from the ground-up, and is tasked with continuing BMW’s dominance over key rivals like the Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-class.
