To invest Rs 160 crore in setting up a global parts centre (GPC) at Neemrana, Rajasthan.

Hero MotoCorp has announced a fresh investment of Rs 160 crore to be used in setting up a global parts centre (GPC) at Neemrana, Rajasthan. The state-of-the-art parts centre will be spread across an area of 35 acres and will deploy modern equipments and management systems such as the automated storage and retrieval system, automated packaging and sorting system, warehouse management system and lean manufacturing systems. The planned GPC will employ 400 skilled workers, and is expected to become operational by the third quarter of the next financial year.

The announcement was made by Pawan Munjal, managing director and chief executive officer, Hero MotoCorp, at a three-day global supply chain partners' conference at St Petersburg, Russia. Hosted by Hero MotoCorp, the conference is attended by over 125 of its top component suppliers who came from India, China, Thailand, Japan and Europe. The company had recently announced investments worth Rs 2575 crore in setting up two new plants, an R&D centre and expansion of existing plants.
