Skoda India to increase prices

The new prices will come into effect early August.

Škoda Auto India will increase prices of its range of cars by 1-1.8 percent. The new prices will come into effect early August.

According to the company, the revised pricing is a result of increasing input costs and volatile exchange rates. Driven mainly by the healthy demand for its entry-level saloon, the Rapid, Škoda Auto India registered sales of 4923 cars in June 2012, a growth of 89 percent over the same period last year.

India is playing an increasingly important role in this Volkswagen Group company’s “2018 Growth Strategy”. Under the plan, Škoda aims to increase its global sales to at least 1.5 million units per year.
