Audi mulling a luxury scooter

To use Ducati's expertise in developing a two-wheeler.

With the recent acquisition of Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati, German brand Audi has now hinted at its plans to develop a luxury urban scooter. Though the company has not disclosed any substantial information about its two-wheeler plans, it did say that the technical help to develop the luxury scooter will come from Ducati.

BMW surprised the world by showcasing its concept electric scooter named 'Concept E' at the Frankfurt International Motor Show last year. The Bavarian firm originally conceived the idea of developing an electric scooter through its British subsidiary, MINI. The company had earlier shared its plans of incorporating electric and hybrid drive systems to premium vehicles so it could promote efficient forms of urban mobility.
