Jaguar-Land Rover creates new jobs

Demand for Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Freelander prompts production expansion

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is creating 1000 new jobs at its Halewood Operations manufacturing facility, near Liverpool, UK.

The rise in workforce is in response to major demand for the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Freelander 2 and will take the number of employees at Halewood to 4500. That’s three times the number of people who were working at the plant in 2009.

Additional shifts will be added to support the increased production of the cars. Halewood will move to three shifts and 24-hour operation to meet the increased global demand. The new jobs will include production operators, supervisors and engineers.

JLR has already started recruiting, and expects the creation of the new jobs to have a positive knock-on effect on its supply chain, creating more new vacancies among component suppliers.
