New Toyota Fortuner, Innova launched

The Japanese carmaker launched the new Innova, Fortuner and Land Cruiser and previewed the new Camry too.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Ltd. launched a slew of products at the expo, including the new Innova, new Fortuner and new Land Cruiser 200. The manufacturer also previewed its new Camry.

The new Innova gets redesigned headlamps, fog lamps, a front grille with a new look and other minor changes to the exterior. The interiors have been spruced up to improve comfort and luxury. It gets steering-mounted controls and a touchscreen display with DVD, USB, AUX and Bluetooth. The new Innova is priced between Rs 9,40,200 and Rs 13,19,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Fortuner comes with 2WD 5-speed manual transmission and 2WD 4-speed automatic transmission options. It is also available with a 3.0-litre D-4D diesel engine in 4WD and 2WD. Changes to the exterior include a new inverted trapezoidal grille, automatic HID headlamps and alloy wheels. Interiors now come with a black wood finish and the Fortuner also sports a 2DIN six-inch touchscreen system with DVD, AUX, USB and Bluetooth compatibility. It is priced at Rs 19,99,000 for the 4x2 Manual, Rs 20,69,000 for the 4x2 Automatic and Rs 20,99,000 for the 4x4 Manual. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Toyota’s Camry that is on display is slated to be launched in the third quarter of 2012. It has undergone many changes and now boasts of better ride comfort, interiors, quality and space. It comes with an integrated touchscreen audio system with DVD, USB, AUX and Bluetooth compatibility. It also gets steering-mounted controls as well as a smart entry system with a start/stop button.

The Land Cruiser 200 now has a new 4.5-litre turbo diesel engine with a new six-speed automatic transmission, and design changes to both the interior and exterior. It will be available across all Toyota dealerships and bookings start from January 5, 2012. The new LC 200 is priced between Rs 87,55,000 and Rs 89,55,000.

Toyota sold 51,390 units of the Innova last year and it targets selling 70,000 units this year. Fortuner sales stood at 10,946 last year, with Toyota targeting sales of 14,500 units for 2012.

Other Toyota vehicles on display at the 2012 Auto Expo are the new Etios, new Etios Liva and Altis Easy Seat. Toyota is also displaying its updated Prius hybrid at the expo stall.
