New Super Splendor launched

Hero Honda upgrades Super Splendor.

Hero Honda has launched a revamped version of its Super Splendor motorcycle. Visual changes include a new visor, trendy tank graphics, a new seat, a redesigned grab-rail and smart tail lamp.

The Super Splendor's four-stroke, single-cylinder and air-cooled 124.7cc Quantum Core engine features a new carburettor that the manufacturer claims improves performance. However, peak power remains 9bhp at 4000rpm while max torque too is constant at 1.05kgm at 4000rpm. A maintenance-free battery is now part of standard equipment.

The Super Splendor also gets the Honda Intelligent Ignition System (H.I.S.S) that prevents the engine from being started without the bike’s original keys. In order to improve ride comfort, Hero Honda has also equipped the Super Splendor with a new 5-step adjustable rear shock absorber.

The updated Super Splendor is now BS III compliant and has been priced at Rs 45,950 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
