Autocar India has turned 16, and we’ve gone all out to bring you an unmatched collection of exclusive stories, fun features and numerous tests and comparisons. It wouldn’t be Autocar without the latest news and a few scoops thrown in too, right? We’ve got some sedans, hatches, supercars and even a jet plane, but if there’s a running theme throughout this issue, it is SUVs – every shape, size, type and price – they’re quite literally the flavour of the month. We won’t keep you waiting any longer – here is just a taste of what you can expect in our massive, 450+ page, 16th Anniversary issue. Grab your copy now.

Chevrolet Trailblazer – Chevrolet has never really been able to make much of a mark in India, but the company knows India has a lot of potential, and so wants to come back with a big statement. And statements don’t get much bigger than the Trailblazer. It’s a gargantuan seven-seat SUV with proper American XXL appeal, and that’s something Indians just love. In our exclusive India drive, we try and find out if it’s good enough to take on the well-established competition, and in the process reignite Chevy’s fortunes in India.

Tata Hexa – After a comprehensive overhaul of the smaller models in its range, Tata is now focussing its attention on the top of the pyramid. The Hexa crossover will be the company’s new flagship and in our exclusive, in-depth look, we tell you why it could just be the best car Tata Motors has ever made.

New Skoda Superb – Always a car that challenged models from a segment above, the Superb in its newest avatar has upped the ante. Classy looks, loads of space, and powerful performance –Skoda plans to bring it all to the Indian market next year, but we’ve managed to drive one this month.

Creta vs S-Cross vs Duster vs Terrano vs XUV500 – Both the recently launched Creta and the S-Cross have made strong cases for themselves. But lurking in the background are mighty competitors like the Duster, Terrano and yes, even India’s very own XUV500. We get all of these SUVs together and let them have a go at each other to find out which one comes on top.

Abarth Punto – Fiat’s performance arm has officially entered India with the 595 Competizione, but it is this car, the Punto Abarth, that has enthusiasts drooling in anticipation. Why? Because it packs in a solid 143bhp and could be yours for less than Rs 10 lakh! We’ve driven it, and let us tell you – the hot hatch that our market truly deserves, might just be this.

BMW i8 vs Boeing 787 – The future of transport is all about reducing weight and increasing efficiency without compromising on performance, and these two groundbreaking vehicles are at the forefront of their respective fields in this department. We brought them together on the same stretch of tarmac, and found that they have quite a bit in common.

4WD vs AWD – Lots of crossovers and soft-roaders offer the option of AWD, but do you really need it? And, in a pinch, how far off road can it really take you? We assembled five popular AWD crossovers and set them off on an off-road trail. And just to keep things honest, we brought a proper 4x4 benchmark – the Mahindra Thar.

Pulsar RS 200 vs KTM RC 200 – They maybe siblings from the same stable, even sharing a similar engine, but each has its own distinct character. To find out what each of them brings to the table, we went round-for-round, not just on the road, but also on the race track.

Mega Track Test – Madras Motor Race Track, check. Narain Karthikeyan, check. The year’s best driver’s cars, check. What we have then, is machines pushed to the ragged edge all in an attempt to set the best lap times (and okay, maybe a little tail-out fun as well). Find out how these cars performed in our annual Mega Track Test.

Also inside are the new Ford Endeavour, the new BMW X6 (head to head with the Porsche Cayenne), a couple of sexy Maseratis, some manic AMGs, and oh so much more. It really isn’t possible to do justice to this immense issue on this one page. This is one you just can’t miss, so go and grab a copy now!
