Renault tasted great success with the Duster, and now the French carmaker is ready with a new model that could very well replicate that success. We drive the Renault Lodgy to find out if it has all the elements to succeed in the burgeoning MPV segment. Also in this March issue, we’ve driven the Land Rover Discovery Sport, as have we Jaguar’s entry level XE sedan. We also pit the new Mercedes-Benz C-class against the Audi A4 and the BMW 3-series, and the facelifted VW Jetta against its cousin, the Skoda Octavia.

Renault Lodgy – The Lodgy seems to have all the right ingredients to be a successful MPV in our market. In our exclusive India drive, we’ve aimed to find out if those ideal ingredients come together well – and first impressions are pretty positive.

Hyundai Verna facelift–The Verna has always been considered a pretty well-rounded car. This update gives it a couple of cosmetic changes, some minor equipment additions and also mechanical tweaks to try and improve on ride and handling.

C-class vs 3-series vs A4 – Mercedes’ new C-class is a great car. But it can’t be declared the best until it answers to its main rivals, the BMW 3-series and the Audi A4. Does the C have what it takes to become the new segment leader?

Land Rover Discovery Sport – It is Land Rover’s replacement for the Freelander, and we drive it in the harsh conditions of Iceland to know what it feels like off the road and also on it. This car will also introduce JLR’s new range of engines in India.

Jetta vs Octavia – These are two cars with familial similarities. The VW Jetta has just been given a minor facelift, so it goes without saying that we needed to get a better perspective. We pit the Jetta against the segment benchmark – the Skoda Octavia to pick the best executive sedan.

Jaguar XE – We have been able to drive an almost-ready prototype of the new XE sedan. It’s an all-new car that looks to rival the likes of the new C-class, the A4 and the 3-series. It holds a lot of promise, and more importantly, is quite an important car in Jaguar’s India portfolio.

Griffon 8000TD vs Range Rover Sport – The Range Rove Sport has a certain charm. It also has that ‘conquer all’ aura. We wanted to find out what happens when this Rangie takes on an engineering marvel of a whole another level – the Griffon 8000TD hovercraft.

Benelli TNT 300 – In all likeliness, this is going to be the hot seller for Benelli when it launches its range in India. We strap the V-box on the Benelli TNT 300, to give you every last figure and detail about this baby Italian motorcycle.

Motorsports – What did it take for C S Santosh to crack the Dakar enigma? We were all ears for his delightful, inspiring story. Santosh, on his Dakar rally exploit.
