Audi is part of the German Volkswagen Group and one of the favourite luxury brands in the sub-continent.
The Audi brand got introduced to India way before its official entry into the country in 2007,
thanks to cricketer Ravi Shastri winning an Audi 100 at the Benson and Hedges World Championship of Cricket back in 1985.
Currently, Audi’s line-up in India includes sedans, coupes, sportscars, supercars and SUVs.
Audi was the last of the German luxury trio to enter the Indian market but has established itself as a leading player in the segment, quite often topping the list in sales figures.
Audi’s range of cars has frequently featured on the Hollywood silver screen and is known to be quite popular with the Bollywood brigade.
The range of Audi cars in India is a mix of locally-produced models as well as completely built-up units (CBUs).
The locally-built models are assembled at the Volkswagen Group company’s Škoda Auto India manufacturing facilities in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
