Brake overhaul for WagonR

How often is a complete overhaul of the brakes required? We let you know the exact numbers.

Q I have a question about my 2008 Maruti Wagon R LXi. How often is a complete overhaul of the brakes necessary? Maruti’s authorised service centres recommend it be done each service after the first 5,000km. Is the normal inspection of brakes during servicing sufficient or is an overhaul required? Kalpesh Thacker, Pune

AAA You should follow Maruti’s service recommendations. Maruti asks to inspect operation of brakes, brake pads and discs every 10,000km. Replace the brake fluid every 20,000km or 24 months, whichever is earlier. Inspect brake fluid level frequently and replace brake master cylinder, wheel cylinder and calipers every 40,000km or 48 months, whichever is earlier.
