BMW i5

Launched in India

The i5 has been brought to India via the CBU route, and only in top-spec M60 xDrive form.

 

This is the fifth BMW EV on sale in India after the iX1, iX, i4 and i7.

Two electric motors produce a combined output of 601hp and 795Nm of torque.


BMW claims a 0-100kph time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 230kph

In M60 xDrive spec, the BMW i5 gets an 83.9kWh battery pack that provides 516km range (WLTP).


BMW offers a complementary 11kW wall charger; a 22kW AC charger is optional extra.

Sports flush-fitting door handles, a side skirt, and new 20-inch wheels
At the rear, the i5 adopts the new 7 Series-like tail lamps

The i5 for India gets a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen – the latter runs BMW’s iDrive 8.5 OS and comes with gaming and video functions for the first time.

Naturally, the M60 gets a number of M-specific changes such as carbon fibre trim on the dashboard, specific performance-based displays and a flat-bottom M leather-wrapped steering wheel.
